I was thinking about buying remodeling a muscle car down the road and either keeping it for a while or resaling it but would it be worth putting all the money into it with the high gas prices getting higher?

when you start it cranks up then stops. had it checked thr mechanic says their is residue in the fuel tank that is slimy what could be the problem? the theft system also keeps flushing after you start up the car. need help anyone thx.
